Pierre DeRoche

The Pierre DeRoche watch company is a relatively new company in the horology world. However, the Dubois name is no stranger to the watch world. In 1937, Marcel Depraz developed a chronograph movement that sold 3.5 million pieces. His grandson, Gerald Dubois invented the first automatic chronograph. The present generation too have mechanics in their genes and invented the concentric chronograph. Now they, Pierre Dubois (CEO of Pierre DeRoche) and his two brothers have developed the first movement to house six retrograde seconds mechanisms.

Let's have a look at the GrandCliff TNT, the watch that is powered by the six retrograde seconds mechanism. This watch is powered by the Dubois Depraz calibre with six retrograde second hands. All the six retrograde hands are driven by gears instead of cams. A strip-spring has also been incorporated into the movement and this replaces the traditional balance-spring system. This setup facilitates adjustments and enhances the shock resistance of the calibre.

The SplitRock MDA watch is powered by another creation of Pierre DeRoche, the concentric chronograph. This watch is presented in all black PVD case, crown and push-pieces. Coupled with a black guilloche dial, large numbers in stealth black Superluminova, black counters and hands, it proves that black is indeed beautiful. However, Pierre DeRoche has decided that to be bold, they have added red highlights. There are red stitching on the band, red on the date indicator (12 o'clock position) and a red seconds hand on the emblematic concentric chronograph.
