MB&F has collaborated with noted French watch designer Alain Silberstein to create the Horological Machine No. 2.2. Although Alain Silberstein is noted for his use of colours and pattern, fir this watch, he has creates a watch affectionately known as 'Black Box', all Bauhaus purity and restraint.
The watch retains the twin porthole dial and profile of the original Horological Machine no. 2. The flying-buttress lugs were maintain, but the rest, rethought and rebuilt. The design is much like miniature box camera of the 40s. The new watch is lighter and more whimsical.
The watch offers the following complications; retrograde date, moon phase, instantaneous jumping hour and concentric retrograde minutes. Yes it tells the time as well. The movement is an automatic movement beating at 28,800 A/h.
