IWC has launched its iPhone application. I have tried it and it is pretty cool. It is free on iTunes. The application shows IWC collection of watches (most but not all), plays movies on IWC and its collection, download screensavers and locate IWC boutiques and authorised dealers. The reference section will display the collection by images and show the watch specification like model number and calibre used.
The 'cool' aspect of the application?
1. Complicated mechanism are explained with digital animations.
2. The 'try it on' function where you can try the watch virtually. The application 'takes' a picture of the watch and displays it on a screen. You align the 'watch' to you hand and you can see how the watch looks on you.
3. The virtual 'Big Pilot', one of the watches on my wish list, which tells the time and date. It also uses the iPhone accelerometer to 'charge' up the Big Pilot.
4. The video on the Flagship store in 1881 Hong Kong.
All in all, a cool application.
