Bell & Ross BR02 Phantom

It has finally made it to the BR02 range. What you ask? Well the ‘Phantom’. The Phantom was first seen on the BR01 and subsequently on the BR03. Now the Phantom has appeared in the BR02 collection.

First a little history lesson. The BR02 was first introduced in 2007. The chronograph version was introduced in 2008 and the colourful Limited Edition in the BR02 Blue and Orange appeared in 2009. It was all-quiet after that.

So for 2011, Bell & Ross has decided not only to introduce the Phantom to the BR02, they have also updated the watch. The face-lift is limited (?) to the hands. Gone are the sword hands (with the Orange minute hands). It has been replaced with a more elegant (questionable) looking handset.

Everything else remains; the large 44 mm steel case, the Swiss automatic movement (ETA 2892) and the 100 ATM rated water resistance.

Of course the case on the Phantom will be PVD black, with filled and applied black SuperLuminova Arabic hour markers and hands. The dial features a ‘Clous De Paris’ pattern. Even the HEV will be rendered in black, minus the orange highlights of the standard model.

Best news of all, the watch does not seem to be a limited edition model.

Basic specifications:

Functions: hours, minutes, seconds and date (4:30 o’clock position)
Case: stainless steel PVD black
Crystal: sapphire with AR coating
Movement: automatic ETA 2892, 25 jewels, 28,800 A/h, power reserve 42 hours
Water resistant: 100 ATM

Looks interesting, perhaps it is time to look into getting a BR02, since I already have the BR01 and BR03.
