Concord has released a new watch named the Concord C1 Black Spider. The watch, a 25-piece limited edition, takes its name after the eight "legs" embedded in the 47 mm diameter titanium case. I have to say it looks good.
The C1 Black Spider was created in the C Lab, a research unit specializing in the development of avant-garde watches. The watch will be powered by a hand-wound hand-made 19-jewel C105 movement, which features a tourbillon escapement, visible through a skeletonized, arachnid-shaped base plate.
"The challenge was to imagine a new watch creation in which the case, and movement would be conceived as one complete whole, and in which the mechanism would echo the shape of an intimidating spider, suspended in it's case as if taming the void."
The movement has two cutouts, the one at the 6 o'clock displays the tourbillon while the one at the 12 o'clock gives us the view of the balance wheel that beats at 21,600 A/h.
