As you may know, I like the Breitling Aerospace and I got one. After getting it, I had the issue of module and bezel change and servicing the watch. All done and good and the watch as it is today.
One of the things that I was curious about but never got around doing was to find out what was the SQ on the new case back is. Well, I finally got around to it and this is what I found out.
The SQ stands for Super Quartz. That is Breitling talk for the newer B75 quartz movement. This watch was originally fitted with the B65 quartz movement. So the movement has been upgraded. The difference between the B65 and B75 movement? Well, the B75 is thermocompensated, so it is more accurate (to 15 seconds a year). The B75 is based on the ETA Thermoline 988.352 movement whereas the B65 is based on the ETA 998.332 movement. Both the B65 and B75 are COSC rated.
Anyway, I also learnt that one way to check if you have the B75 module is to run the chronograph (how true this is I don't know and what are the other ways?). It seems on the older modules, when the chronograph exceeds 1 hour, the display will flash between the hour indication and the minutes and seconds. Anyone would like to clarify this?

To tell you the truth, I don't even know how to differentiate (by looking at these pictures) the hour indication versus the minute indication.
It does not matter to me. I am just happy to learn that the watch is currently fitted with a super quartz module.
