Yet another innovative time piece from Christopher Ward. This time on the shape of the C1000 Typhoon FGR4 Ceramic. The watch pays homage to one of the most advanced military aircraft in the world, the FGR4 Typhoon.
The watch itself is technically advance with the use of a modified ETA7750 (date, day and constant seconds removed) encased in a ceramic case (supported by a titanium sub-frame). This makes the C1000 Typhoon one of the lightest watch in the Christopher Ward collection.
The other interesting aspect of the watch is the charcoal black dial. The hour markers uses the same font as the Typhoon's Head Up Display (HUD) and the sub-dial at 6 o'clock carries the RAF baby blue and salmon pink roundel. Even the outlines of the sub-dials is inspired by the shape of the planes after-burners. Oh, yes, the baton hour markers are also rendered in baby blue.
To top it off, the tip and the counter balance of the central seconds chronograph hands displays the delta shape wings design of the Typhoon. The canards at the tip and the delta wings on the counter balance. Just awesome.
And finally, on the case back, we find the plan view of the Typhoon.
The watch comes in at 42mm in diameter and is water resistant to 5 ATM. It is offered either with a leather strap with the Bader deployment or high density webbing strap with titanium buckle. The watch is available for pre-order with an October delivery.
