One of the collection I like from Seiko is the Seiko Monsters. These are Seiko diver watches from the Seiko Superior collection. The love for the watches started from this Monster...
The Seiko Orange Monster reference SKX781K1. This was a gift from my wife for my birthday many many moons ago...when dinosaurs roamed the earth...
For many years that was my only Seiko Monster. That changed when I saw this at a local watch shop. The Seiko Black Monster reference SKX779K1. My second Monster.
Last year, or was it the year before (?), Seiko updated the Monster collection. The most important change (to me anyway) is the updated movement from the bullet proof 7S26 to the new 4R36 movement with hacking and hand-wind capability.
In a holiday to Malaysia, I got this. The Seiko Monster Dracula reference SRP313K1.
Thus far, all the Monster I have are reference K1, which are models made (?) or assembled in Singapore. That changed when Seiko introduced the Code Blue collection. I managed to get this Monster, reference SRP455J1. Finally a JDM Monster in my collection.
Seiko sprang a surprised in South Asia by introducing this, another Code Blue Monster. It is similar to the SRP455J1 but with a metal bracelet. With the assistance of a good friend, I got one, reference SRP461K1.
So the collection as it stands today and stood for a long time...
That changed today with the arrival of this box. What could it be?
Reference SRP309J1..
The box inside..
Yes, after a long search, I finally got this watch... The new Orange Monster and a JDM model no less. Very very lucky indeed...
Closer view of the watch...
The old and new...
And the collection today. I doubt I will be adding any more monsters to the collection. I know that Seiko has released the new Seiko Monster Prospex, but at the moment, they don't sing to me. Maybe if Seiko released an Orange Prospex Monster.....
Apologies for the poor quality of some of the photographs. Still coming to grips with using a new camera. The photographs were shot with the Canon 100D White.
